NDPC to make draft document of 40yrs Dev't Plan ready by end of 2016

The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), says it is working feverishly to get the draft document of the 40-year Development Plan ready by the end of 2016.

The Commission will this week end the first part of the second phase of the technical consultation on the plan.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana’s Parliamentary Correspondent Dominic Hlordzi, a Senior Technical Advisor to the Director General of NDPC, Kenneth Owusu said the Commission is hoping to have the first draft of the 40-year Development Plan by August this year for onward submission to Parliament for consideration and approval.

He spoke about some of the fundamental issues that came up during the technical consultations.

According to the Senior Technical Advisor Kenneth Owusu, the NDPC will from the 4th of March move to the next phase of the consultation which will involve meeting stakeholders from identifiable bodies, Civil Society Organizations, Academia and Think Tanks.

It will also engage with the youth where views from students will be captured into the Plan. He also touched on the role of Parliament in the drafting and implementation of the 40-year Development Plan.
