MoH seeks Cabinet approval to recruit staff – Minister

Plans are far advanced for the Ministry of Finance to obtain approval from Cabinet for financial clearance to recruit more staff for effective health service delivery in various facilities under the Christian Health Association of Ghana.

This is in appreciation of government for the immense contribution of the association to the health sector through the provision of effective healthcare to the most vulnerable and underprivileged in the country, particularly in the most remote areas of the country.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon, gave the hint at the 48th Annual Conference of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), underway in Kumasi.

He said the collaboration between CHAG and government has further been deepened through the construction of many Community Health and Planning Services (CHPS) compounds that seek to bring primary healthcare to the doorsteps of the citizenry.

Mr Ackon noted that the participation of CHAG in the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme is laudable, and hoped that the association would continue to support government to offer the best healthcare to Ghanaians, especially the poor and vulnerable.

He also urged member health facilities under CHAG to prioritise sound investments with internally generated funds while being financially disciplined in their operations to enable them to survive and flourish.
