President John Mahama will today launch a process for the preparation of a long-term National Development Plan for the country. It will be the first ever long-term development plan spanning a period of 40 years.

The plan which will be spearheaded by the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) is aimed at shaping Ghana’s future and complementing the existing medium development plans of the country.

The President, who resumed work yesterday after a one-week break, will this week also inaugurate a new tomato processing and packaging factory, and the completed Fufulso- Sawla road.

On Friday, the President will inspect ongoing works at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange and open to traffic two of the flyovers at the Interchange.
