THE Managing Partner with business law firm, AB and David, Ms Isabel Boaten, has urged businesses in Ghana and Africa to take advantage of the numerous investment opportunities and apply their strengths to bring about the needed development.

She urged African entrepreneurs to exploit the enabling business environment, pool their skills and work for the betterment of the continent.

“It is our deep belief that no one can tell the full narrative of Africa better than the Africans who live and do business here; we have great ideas and we need to put more energy to implement them within the framework and idiosyncrasies of the continent,” she said.

Ms Boaten was speaking at the 4th edition of the AB & David Crystal Ball Africa Conference in Accra.

The two-day event, which attracted professionals and businessmen across Africa, America and Europe was on the theme: “The Africa Opportunity & Solutions Looking For Problems”.

According to Ms Boateng, “the solution is the opportunity that Africa offers; it is our desire and privilege to help conceptualise and actualise this opportunity.”

Since 2003, AB David has committed itself to providing fora for the private sector to understand the impact of policy and legislative changes on their business.

Following the transition of AB & David to a Pan Africa presence, the firm launched the AB & David Crystal Ball Africa in 2014.

The event was co-sponsored by the Oxford Business Group, a publisher of annual investment and economic reports on more than 30 countries. Other co-sponsors included the Association of Ghana Industries and Invest In Africa, a  not-for-profit organization with the vision to create thriving African economies working in partnership with the  private and public sector .

The event examined key global and African events of 2016 and what their impact on   businesses in Africa will be this year.
